Vince's Story
Born and raised in Philadelphia, my passion for soft pretzels began at a very early age. It was around the time that I was in 2nd grade and had received a gift of $5 from my godmother . Today it is a family story that has been told and retold as if we were all hearing it for the first time. I took my $5 to school, handed my money to the lunch lady and told her I wanted all of the soft pretzels that $5 could buy. At the time each soft pretzel was only 5c. I saw nothing wrong with my request, but my teacher felt differently. She called my mother at home to tell her what I was trying to do. All ending well though, they let me buy pretzels for my classmates, and…I still had change!
By 6th grade I was waking up early to arrive at school as their pretzel delivery boy. It was my job to deliver the soft pretzels to each class room. My reward for helping? A free soft pretzel and a juice. I attended Bensalem High School and by that time started I was selling the soft pretzels on the corners.
I started out in the soft pretzel business by selling them at local fairs and farmers markets. After a short while my family and I decided to open a bakery in the Frankford section of Philadelphia in 2000. Though successful, grueling hours and long travel from our Bucks County home got us thinking of how people in our area would respond to a true Philadelphia soft pretzel. We took the chance and moved our soft pretzel bakery in 2001 to Doylestown, PA. From the first day our bakery doors opened, we knew we made the right decision. Who would have thought that the snack I so often enjoyed in my childhood has continued to bring me great pleasure to this day?

Danielle's Story
Unlike my husband, being born and raised in Churchville, Pennsylvania, I missed out on all of the tradition that a philly soft pretzel holds. I attended Holy Family University and graduated with my bachelors degree in nursing. For the next 10 years, I had a successful nursing career.
At the time of the birth of our third child, our pretzel bakery in Doylestown, PA opened. With the rush of the stores instant success and now having three children, it was then time to make a career decision. I decided it would be to my family's benefit that I step down from my position as a nurse and focus on them and our growing business.
My commitment to the business now was to make "A Taste of Philly" pretzel bakery stand out from the rest. In my attempt to do so, I added our "sweets" products (hand dipped chocolate covered pretzels) and our "Bake At Home" soft pretzel kits. Having 3 children, I know parents are constantly looking for entertainment for kids, so I designed the kits for children of all ages to enjoy!
The dedication & pride we as a family put into "A Taste of Philly" is the reason for its continued success today.
